The following is a directory of rail-trails in the state of Kansas. These multi-use paths are built on former rail lines, transforming the abandoned right-of-way into a both a transportation corridor and a recreational resource for bicycling, walking, and horseback riding.
Nationwide, the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy serves as a united voice and clearinghouse for rail-to-trail projects. In Kansas, the leading rail-to-trail organizations include the
Central Kansas Conservancy, the Kansas Trails Council, the Kanza Rail-Trails Conservancy, Prairie Travelers, and the Sunflower Rail-Trails Conservancy.
