The following is a directory of "bicycle paths" in the state of Kansas. Despite the name, a "bike path" usually not for the exclusive use of bicycles. More properly, it is a "multi-use pathway" – suitable for bicycling, walking, running, jogging, walking dogs, roller-blading, and other off-road recreational activities.
As such, bicyclists need to takes special care when on a "bike path". They are typically the largest and fastest-moving devices on the path, and can become a hazard to other users. Likewise, bike paths can be dangerous for cyclists, with both pedestrians and animals prone to moving quickly and unpredictably. Often more cyclists are injured on bike paths than on roadways.
