The Kanza Rail-Trails Conservancy (KRTC) is a private, non-profit organization made up of volunteers who are committed to recreational trail development in Kansas. The KRTC organizes all official activities on the Flint Hills and Landon Nature Trails and is responsible for development and maintenance of the trails. KRTC works closely with the national Rails-to-Trails Conservancy organization to assure the continued existence of this great recreational resource.
The Flint Hills Nature Trail and Landon Nature Trail depend entirely on the efforts of the private citizens who build, maintain, and manage the trail. They perform trail maintenance, weed control, sign placement, special events planning, fundraising, promotions, public relations, and more.
