Kanopolis Lake: Venango Campground

Venango Campground provides campsites on the eastern shores of Kanopolis Lake, near Kanopolis, Kansas. It is managed by the Corps of Engineers.

Venango Campground has 185 campsites with utilities, but no primitive sites. Each full campsite can accommodate an RV or a vehicle, but may be used by tent campers as well. The campground includes showers, vault toilets, potable water, and picnic shelters.

Sites start at $12 per night (less in the off-peak season).

Other campgrounds at Kanopolis Lake include Riverside Campground and Pomona State Park. Both are are pay sites; there is no free primitive camping at Kanopolis Lake.

The state park also offers the Kanopolis Lake Trails, with nearly 25 miles of multi-use trails that loop through canyons, trees, and high prairie with a variety of terrain and difficulty levels.
