Winfield City Lake is located about 8 miles northeast of Winfield, Kansas. The lake offers excellent outdoor recreation for camping, boating, fishing, and swimming in the scenic Flint Hills of south-central Kansas.
There are about 4.5 miles of mountain bike and nature trails located on the south shore at the eastern end of the lake (known as "area 19"). The singletrack trail runs through the woods along the lake, through a creek, and across open grasslands, with some sharp turns, rocky sections, short but steep climbs, quick drops, and some fast open riding. There are also quite a few miles of doubletrack that runs nearly all the way around the lake.
Winfield City Lake is managed by the city of Winfield (620-221-5635). A day permit for the lake is $4.
