Cheney State Park, February 2011

These photos were contributed by Dan Payne, who rode the trails in February of 2011. Here are his comments:

I must say that the trailbuilders did a great job of creating this trail system. None of the sections I rode had anything too technical, but it is a nice trail that riders of any level could enjoy. This is the perfect trail for those like me that love to ride off-road, but don't like the real technical stuff.

I also rode on the Springcreek Wildlife Observation Trail, and it is a nice little piece of trail. A good portion of this trail is actually a dock type structure, made of composite material, that takes you through/over a marshy type area that is a neat ecosystem all its own. There are also a bunch of new paved trail sections throughout the park in this area that connect the various campground/day-use areas. If you don't like doing out-and-backs, you can ride on a combination of paved park roads, interconnecting paved paths, and the West Side Trail to make a nice loop.
