The 816 Bicycle Collective is a group of individuals working on a volunteer basis to rescue and repair bicycles in Kansas City, Missouri. They believe in empowerment through education and support the use of bicycles as a healthy and ecological means of transportation.
The 816 Bicycle Collective is not a bike shop. They are not a service-based organization, so they do not do repairs or tune-ups in the same way that most bike shops do. They'll be happy to help you learn how to tune up and/or repair your own bike.
The 816 Bicycle Collective is also not a bike dealer. They believe that building bikes helps in building a community. Therefore, they don't "sell" bicycles, parts or labor, but try to give you something that helps you in exchange for something that helps them.
