Tour of Payne

The Tour of Payne is an annual patriotic bicycle ride on various routes within Payne County, Oklahoma. The ride takes place each July, and offers 18, 32, 64 mile routes. It is sponsored by the Stillwater Red Dirt Pedalers bicycle club.

Participants are invited to the city's "Boomer Blast" celebration in the evening after the ride. This event celebrates the place "where Oklahoma began," close to the start of the 1889 Land Run in North Stillwater. Historical locations in the town are rest stops on the route, including Jim Thorpe Park in Cushing and the Washington Irving Trail Museum.

All routes are well marked, and fully-stocked rest stops are provided at appropriate intervals. Showers and jacuzzi are available after the ride at the Best Western Pool area. Ride participants have free use of the pool and pool area on the day of the ride. Please bring your own soap and towel.
