Roger Joyce Memorial Bicycle Ride

Roger Joyce Memorial Bicycle Ride

The Roger Joyce Memorial Bicycle Ride is an annual event to help raise awareness for bicyclists on the roadways. Dr. Roger Joyce was struck and killed instantly from behind while riding south on Hwy 77, on July 26, 2012. Roger was an avid bicyclist from the age of 17.

Come join other enthusiasts as we ride through Butler County in the summer time. All funds raised will be used to purchase DOT approved signs to raise awareness and increase safety for bicyclists on the roadways.

There will be 3 routes all going south on Hwy 77, the routes will pass a Ghost Bike that has been set in memory of Roger. The 3 bicycle routes are 25 miles, 50 miles, and 80 miles, with full SAG support. Bicycle Pedaler will provide a mechanic for the event, and there will also a photographer on the route taking pictures, Krystal Aiya Photography. Lunch will be provided for the bicyclists who take on the 50 and 80 mile routes. Lunch will be in Leon, Kansas, at rest stop #6.

Contact Luci Joyce (316-737-2535) or Gary Smith (316-323-3982) with any questions or for registration details.
