The annual Maple Leaf Bicycle Tour takes place in October each year in Carthage, Missouri. The ride is sponsored by the Joplin Trails Coalition with proceeds to benefit Ruby Jack Trail.
This is a road ride on quiet country roads. Rest stops with food and water are provided every 10 to 15 miles. There are 15, 40, 62, 80 and 100 mile ride options. The 50, 70, and 100 mile routes include the famous Cooky's Cafe in Golden City, Missouri.
The after-ride eat-out features burgers and hotdogs, as well as a drawing for a bicycle from Bicycle Specialists of Joplin. There is also a free Bike Rodeo for the younger kids, with free bike helmet for first 25 kids that register, free bicycle ID numbers from the Carthage Police Department.
