Firecracker 50

Firecracker 50

Seward, recognized as America's Small Town 4th of July City, hosts the state of Nebraska in an old-fashioned family celebration each July 4th. The Firecracker 50 is a lightly-supported, free public ride hosted by Great Plains Bicycling Club in conjunction with Seward's July 4th activities.

Lightly supported means that they provide a SAG support station with water and a limited selection of snack foods. The ride is entirely on paved roads between Seward and the towns of Brainard and Dwight. Distance options are 22 and 51 miles (or a distance in-between if you choose to turn around early!).

The Firecracker Ride starts at Seward High School east parking lot, 532 Northfield Drive in Seward. Registration begins at 7:00 am; the ride starts at 7:30 am.
