Coronado's Challenge is an annual mountain bike race that takes place at Coronado Heights, a hill northwest of Lindsborg, Kansas. It is alleged to be the place where Francisco Vasquez de Coronado gave up his search for the seven cities of gold and turned around to return to Mexico. The view from the top offers a spectacular perspective on the surrounding countryside.
Coronado's Challenge features a Downhill Event, a Hill Climb Event, and a 4-Hour Cross Country race. Cost is $20 for the first event, an additional $10 for the second event, and $5 for the third event.
Coronado's Challenge is sponsored by the Central Kansas Mountain Bike Club and is part of the Blanket Race Series of mountain bike events.
