The annual Amelia Earhart Century Bike Ride takes place each June in Atchison, Kansas, and offers 35, 62, and 100-mile routes through the rolling farmland of northeast Kansas.
Registration is from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Santa Fe Depot, 200 S. 10th in Atchison. The ride includes maps, coffee and donuts at the start of the ride, a commemorative T-shirt, minor repair service and SAG stops with water, fruit and snacks every 10 to 17 miles. Post-ride showers are available between 11am and 5pm.
The world-famous aviator Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison and lived there during her early childhood. Area attractions include the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum and Historic Site, the Amelia Earhart Bridge, and the Amelia Earhart Festival.
The Amelia Earhart Century has been discontinued.
