IRS Reporting Requirements For Trail Groups
The IRS now requires all 501(c)(3) organizations which have gross receipts of less than $25,000 to file 990. An organization can file online in five minutes using an e-postcard. Otherwise, the organization could lose its 501(c)(3) status. This applies for 2007, 2008 and 2009 tax years. To file go to: http://epostcard.form990.org/
Earth Day 40th Anniversary Celebration
The 40th anniversary of Earth Day is April 22. Approximately, 20 million Americans participated in the original Earth Day in 1970. Some trail organizations are organizing trail events for Earth Day. If you know of any in Kansas, let us know.
