Bike Stop Bicycle Stores celebrates 20 years and anticipates a new year of change.
In 2008 the Bike Stop Bicycle Store-Kansas City celebrated 20 years of being in the bike business, thanks to all their loyal customers.
Many things have changed since owner Todd Pennington opened his 900-square-foot store in Independence, and in 2009 they’ll add one more change to the list. This Friday, January 30, the Kansas City store will close and a new 2,000 square foot store will open in Lee’s Summit.
The new store will be located at the Summit Shopping Center at 248 NW Oldham Parkway which is between Chipman Rd. and 3rd Street, on the west side of 50 Hwy.
The employees of the KC store are anticipating the opening of the new store. Curt Carlson, who has been an employee with the store almost 20 years, stated “I am excited for the move. I think our customers will appreciate the easy-to-ride-to location, more inventory and bigger space.”
The new store will boast a designated BG F.I.T. area and space for commuters and riders to relax. Customers will still be greeted by the same exceptional staff and customer service from Pennington, Carlson and the same weekend team of Toby Wilcoxon and Lisa Cox.
Toby and Lisa, who have both been working for Pennington at least 11 years, are looking forward to commuting to the new store on Saturdays and having group rides during the week.
Come visit the new Lee’s Summit store on opening day this Friday, we look forward to seeing you soon. Winter hours at the new location will be 10a.m. to 6p.m., Monday through Friday, 10a.m. to 5p.m on Saturday, the store will be close on Sunday.
