The 30 Days of Biking Challenge runs from April 1 to April 30, and the concept is very simple: ride your bike every day.
It doesn’t matter how far you ride, how fast you ride, or for what purpose you ride.
The tagline for the challenge is fitting: “A community of joyful cyclists“.
Think about that each time you ride. The challenge is less about accomplishing a particular number of miles, or improving your average speed, than about embracing the simple joy of riding a bike, and making that part of your day-to-day life.
Ride every day, just because, and consider all the other positives that go along with cycling — saving money, improving your mental and physical health, making your community a better place to, live, etc. — just a bonus.
I’ve done the 30 Days challenge in both 2011 and 2012, and plan to do it again this year.
Here’s what my April schedule looks like:
Feel free to follow along (and post your own rides) on the Kansas Cyclist Strava group, or on Facebook, or Google+, or Twitter, or whatever.
Hope you join me in the April 2013 30 Days of Biking Challenge!
