The Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) is conducting a survey about how to prioritize transportation improvements in the city.
This is an opportunity to let planners know what you’d like to see the city do to improve their transportation system.
Incidentally, this survey is not limited to Wichita residents, so if you have a few minutes, please take the time to advocate for improved bicycle, pedestrian, and mass-transit on behalf of our friends in Wichita.
Let your voice be heard!

Results of the survey (most to least important):
1: Improve transit service.
2: Expand and improve bike route system.
3: Develop a pedestrian friendly transportation system to make areas more walkable.
4: Maintenance and improvements of existing facilities.
5: Improve traffic signal timing.
6: Improve connections between travel modes by adding infrastructure (bike lockers at bus stops, bike racks on buses, park and ride lots, etc).
7: Passenger rail service between Wichita and other cities.
8: Improve driver education.
9: Widen existing roads.
10: Build new roads.
“As seen from the project rankings, public transportation, expanding bicycle routes, and developing a pedestrian friendly system rated as the top three most important transportation improvement projects.”
